Generating units, depending on their maximum module power and connection voltage level, are subject to the commissioning procedure required by the NC RfG network code (Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/631). For this reason, each generating module must meet specific technical requirements, which are verified through appropriate tests and measurements.
In the process of obtaining an indefinite distribution agreement, a final permit to operate issued by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office may also be required. This document is an essential part of the procedure related to obtaining a generation licence. As a result, the entire grid-connection process proceeds in accordance with applicable regulations and operator requirements.
Obtaining the final permit to operate requires meeting a number of technical conditions. Therefore, NC RfG compliance tests must be performed, along with additional assessments such as power quality measurements (PQM).
These tests are crucial because they confirm that the generating unit meets both NC RfG requirements and the provisions of the Distribution Grid Operation and Maintenance Manual (IRiESD). Moreover, the results form the basis for operator approval and ensure stable operation of the unit within the power system.
We perform NC RfG compliance tests for:
Type B modules — from 200 kW to 10 MW (voltage < 110 kV)
Type C modules — from 10 MW to 75 MW (voltage < 110 kV)
Type D modules — units connected at 110 kV or above
The scope of measurements includes:
compliance with NC RfG requirements,
compliance with the IRiESD of the relevant DSO,
tests verifying the control and regulation properties of the power plant,
measurements and assessment of the generating unit’s impact on power quality parameters at the point of connection.
Thanks to the extensive testing scope, we can comprehensively verify the operating parameters of the generating unit and prepare all documentation required by the operator. This significantly reduces the risk of delays during the approval process.
We specialise in measurements performed in accordance with NC RfG requirements and DSO documentation. Our tests follow the standards of major operators, including Tauron Dystrybucja, ENEA Operator, Energa Operator and PGE Dystrybucja.
This ensures full compliance of the documentation with operator expectations, which significantly speeds up the acceptance procedures. At the same time, we ensure technical and formal accuracy of all reports so that the entire process runs smoothly.
